AI Adoption for Indian Enterprises: A Practical Checklist for 2026
By ATTPL HOLDCO / ATTPL GROUP Editorial Team · · 2 min read
India hosted the AI Impact Summit in February 2026. Here is how mid-size enterprises can start with AI safely: use cases, data, skills and governance.
The context
India's AI Impact Summit was held from 16 to 20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, under the IndiaAI Mission. Reports around it mention more than 38,000 GPUs provisioned under the mission and indigenous foundation models selected for multilingual use. Please verify the figures on official PIB and IndiaAI pages.
A practical checklist
- Pick two or three clear use cases, such as customer support, document processing or forecasting.
- Clean and organise your data before any model work.
- Decide build or buy, and check vendor security and data location.
- Set up human review for important decisions.
- Train staff and measure results against a baseline.
- Prepare for data protection obligations under the DPDP Act.
Common mistakes
- Starting with a tool, not a problem.
- Ignoring security and privacy.
- Expecting instant returns without change management.
Choosing and scoping a pilot
Select a process with enough volume to matter, clear measures of success and available data. Define the baseline today: time per task, error rate, cost and customer satisfaction. Set a pilot duration of a few weeks, a small team and a clear decision rule for scaling or stopping.
Document what the AI system is allowed to do and who reviews its output.
Data quality and security
AI outputs reflect the data and instructions given. Clean and label data, remove duplicates and restrict access. Check where data is processed and stored, and whether the vendor uses your data to train models. Use enterprise agreements that protect confidentiality.
People and change management
Explain to staff what will change and what will not. Train them on how to use the tools and how to check outputs. Celebrate time saved and redeploy it to higher-value work rather than treating AI only as a cost-cutting tool.
ATTPL support
ATTPL Group's IT and consultancy companies help enterprises in Jaipur and beyond assess readiness, build pilots and put governance in place.
